During the seventies was frequently in the local news as a pest and harmful species and the local council
regularly torched the Sea Buckthorn at Greatstone to destroy the larval nests. Since then most of the
Buckthorn habitat has been destroyed with housing development. Frequency to light each year remains
roughly the same, varies in numbers as the population builds and then crashes. The 46th most commonly
occurring moth in the area. Data from BB and DW both show a decreasing trend in the number recorded.
Although recorded every year from all trap-sites is much commoner at Greatsone and Dungeness. Peak
     month July.

Earliest date. 21st June (07). Latest date. 4th October (97). Max. 1000 at Dungeness in July 92
