Recorded on 2 dates, Lydd 20th September 93.
Greatstone 22nd September 99.
The identification of a moth, caught at Spurn Head in Yorkshire by B.Spence, as this species, raised
its profile. Two 'nycteolines' preserved in the collection of SP.Clancy were identified by M.Honey at the
British Museum. Others have also been retrospectively identified. It is thought that the Lydd moth, in
93, was the first British record.
Moth caught in 2003 at Dungeness was thought to be this species but when genetalia examined,
proved to be Oak Nycteoline.
